TPC Summerlin is a beautiful golf course. It is an award winning Bobby Weed-designed championship golf course and is located in the master-planned community of Summerlin. On Oct. 12th it becomes the home to Justin Timberlake Charity Golf for Shriners Children Hospital.  I think almost everyone has heard of Shiners and the good works they do for children.  It is exciting that such a good cause is coming to Summerlin.

LAS VEGAS – Grammy® and Emmy® Award-winning international superstar Justin Timberlake is set to bring his Justin Timberlake and Friends, a Special Evening Benefiting Shriners Hospitals for Children event to the stage at the Mandalay Bay Events Center Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 8 p.m.
The concert is scheduled to feature performances by singer/songwriter and producer Timberlake, 12-time Grammy Award-winner R&B and Pop sensation Alicia Keys, Country and Pop superstar Taylor Swift, R&B star Ciara, and 5-time Grammy Award-winning R&B-Pop group, TLC. Additional performers may be added in the near future.
Tickets priced at $250, $200, $150 and $100, not including applicable service charges, go on sale Saturday, August 29 at 10 a.m., and will be available at all Ticketmaster locations (select Smith’s Food and Drug Centers and Ritmo Latino). This is a very nice view of J.W. Marriott Resort and Spa. There is also a beautiful casino called The Rampart which connects with the Resort and Spa. The J.W. Marriott also backs up to the TPC Golf Course. Before Red Rock Casino opened this was the only Casino Spa Resort that was officially in Summerlin. Most people think that Sun Coast is part of Summerlin but the boundaries end just south of the J.W. Marriott. Thanks to LasVegasUndressed for this beautiful shot.

November 11, 2008 TPC Summerlin will host a benefit for for our military and their families.  This is part of the PGA National Military outreach program.

” Six outstanding B4B (Birdies for the Brave) home front groups will benefit from the event including two supported by PGA Tour star Phil Mickelson and one supported by Las Vegas resident and PGA Tour star Nick Watney.”

I really like Phil Mickelson and Nick Watney.  Phil has not been playing real well this year but he is fun to watch just the same.  I love Watney because he is a Las Vegas resident and  it is good to support local people.

My son was in the Navy on the USS Kitty Hawk.  He went in with the first wave into Iraq.  I was under the delusion that since he had his own plane he was responsible for he would be on the ship and the planes would land and take off from there.  I was wrong the airport was the first thing they secured!  I did not know until he came home and I am glad I did not.

My heart goes out to every mother and father whose child is fighting. The wives and husbands, and the children of our military deserve any help they can get and more.
