The sole reason we went was to donate to the pets that have been the silent victims of the Foreclosure crisis. Some of these pets have been left in abandon houses and found by the realtor. An organization has stepped forward to help these animals. Foreclosed Upon Pets works very hard to make sure these animals find new loving homes. FUPI as they are know is a not for profit organization dedicated to the rescue of domesticated animals that have been abused or abandoned by their owners as a result of economic hardship including foreclosure, loss of unemployment, insufficient income, or death and illness. I loved their motto “SAVING LIVES ONE PAW AT A TIME” and when they advertise it says: Come Meet Your New Best Friend If you would like to Donate time, services or funds please see their website, as for myself I will keep donating whenever I can. www.forecloseduponpets.org

Summerlin Sports Park provides a very fun time for families and individuals.

Las Vegas Sports park is located at 1400 N. Rampart Blvd. ( the corner of Vegas Drive)

About 6 months ago a three field Paintball arena. One field is designated for Speed-ball seven on seven players dodging around inflatable bunkers. The other two fields are geared towards “scenario” paintball in which players have hay bales, tires, and wooden barricades with portholes to shoot through, playing to last man standing or capture the enemy’s flag.

There are plenty of regular players, but also a lot of first timers, some in their 70′s.

Just recently a new challenging attraction opened at the Sports Park. It has a rock wall, zip lines and tight ropes. The challenge course features six low elements and six high elements. The low elements are all on the ground and are meant to be done in groups. (they do a lot of team building for businesses)
One such team building includes a telephone pole laid on the ground. The participants are asked to stand on the pole and then arrange themselves according to height without touching the ground.
One high element which are geared more towards individuals is the zip line, the participant can reach the lines by either scaling a 32 foot climbing wall or climbing a ladder. Once hooked to the zip line they will travel down at about 35 MPH. You can read more about this diverse adventure that sounds great

HERE

The Summerlin Sports Park offers so much more Martial Arts, Fencing, Indoor Soccer, Batting cages, and so much more. To check there whole curriculum you can read about it Here

There is so much to do here, and learn wow families and kids a like will have a lot of fun.

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. We even had a small snow storm to give us a very small white Christmas. I was up at The Suncoast where we had dinner with friends. When we came out the snow was flying that was around 9:30 PM. I did not have my camera with me darn it. I wish each and every Summerlin resident a very Happy New Years!

While I am here let me remind you that you will be able to recycle your tree from Dec. 26th- Jan. 15th a drop site has been set up at the RC Wiley parking lot at 3850 South Town Center Drive the trees will then go to The Springs Preserve to be mulched up for all of our benefits.

I could not resist driving all of the way to the top of Summerlin and take a couple more pictures. This is at the top of Charleston Blvd. and this road if you go on leads you into Red Rock Conservatory. Summerlin has a fantastic view of Red Rock Canyon. It is awesome with the red rocks, but is this not beautiful with the snow on it? I do love living in Summerlin.

Summerlin Hospital earns consumer award, another good reason to live in Summerlin Las Vegas.

My mom was in Summerlin Hospital for about 3 weeks a couple of years ago. They took very good care of her so I was not surprised when I read that they had won the consumer choice award for 2008-09 from the National Research Council. Summerlin Hospital was ranked one of the highest quality health care faculties in the United States.

Located off of Town Center and in the village of The Crossing . This beautiful hospital has some awesome views of the mountains and also The Strip while you are recovering.

To achieve this award surveys were distributed to more than 400,000 health care consumers, asking about everything from quality of equipment to level of service. Summerlin Hospital joins only 116 other hospitals across the US to receive this award for the 2008-09 time period. The respondents had used the hospital and its services with in the year previous.

At the end of April 2008, Summerlin Hospital opened a 20,000 sq. foot extension to its emergency room. This included new CAT scan machines and radiology scanners. Summerlin Hospital has around 1,100 employees and 1,400 physicians on staff.

I am proud to live in Summerlin and believe this great hospital deserves the award. Just another good reason to live in Summerlin. After all if you do not have your health what do you have? For more about Summerlin Hospital you can read about them Summerlin Hospital Information

This is a very nice view of J.W. Marriott Resort and Spa. There is also a beautiful casino called The Rampart which connects with the Resort and Spa. The J.W. Marriott also backs up to the TPC Golf Course. Before Red Rock Casino opened this was the only Casino Spa Resort that was officially in Summerlin. Most people think that Sun Coast is part of Summerlin but the boundaries end just south of the J.W. Marriott. Thanks to LasVegasUndressed for this beautiful shot.

This weeks business is

Sun City Summerlin Animal Hospital

This is a Summerlin business I can personally vouch for. The veterinarians are top notch, the animals love them and that is good enough for me. Located on the corner of Lake Mead and Del Webb Blvd. the people living in Sun City Summerlin are able to bring their pets for a visit via golf cart. Sun City Summerlin is a golf cart friendly community. If someone living in Sun City Summerlin chose never to drive a car again, they would not have to. I will let you know as I go along describing this community just how self contained the community is.

I told you I could vouch for Sun City Summerlin Animal Hospital, we take our little baby over to be treated when needed and we would not just trust her to anyone. Even though she has to know she gets shots and things that hurt here, she runs through the door and greets everyone with kisses and tail a wagging.

MEET BUTTONS

Fresh and Easy has been sprouting up all over Nevada. This store used to be a Sav On drug store that shut down, so we were glad to have this fine grocery move into the neighborhood. This store has fresh samples everyday, recipes that are the employees own. The meat is fresh and their vegetables are also very fresh. Fresh and Easy also has wonderful pastries and everyday items you need at reasonable prices.
