
Summerlin Pumpkin Festival and Family, Fun and Fur Festival on the same day
This is the second annual Family, Fun, and Fur Festival and will be held at Summerlin Centre Community Park ( I did a blog post on this park it is beautiful) This will be held this Saturday 11th 2008. Runs from 10 am – 4pm. Summerlin Centre Park is on Town Centre Drive, just past Charleston. Pet’s on leashes are welcomed.
This Festival is focused on humane education and fun for the entire family.
Educational and service booths will include a $5 micro chipping clinic, pet tag creation
Information on the importance of pets as part of the family, the value of spay/neuter, and many other topics.
In addition, please join us to make food bowls for your pets, experience hands-on proper dog training techniques, IPTouch pet massage, help the Nevada SPCA name future pet residents, and earn an Animal Hero Badge.
You can also enter your pet’s photo in the “Cutest” Pet Photo Contest and enter a drawing in the Be Kind to Animals drawing contest.
Summerlin Pumpkin Festival will take place at The Gardens Park also on Sat. Oct 11th from 12pm-4pm. You can purchase your pumpkin from The Pumpkin Patch. Summerlin residents can also purchase wrist bands to participate in a hay maze, petting zoo, bounce house, costume parade, and scarecrow building contest. Wristbands will be sold for 7 dollars. The Las Vegas Farmers Market will also be there and have all sorts of goodies.
America’s Biggest Open House
60 model homes in 15 Summerlin Neighborhoods. If you want more information on this and to be sent information on the prices and what houses are part of this open house, call me, email me, ottext me. The event will take place October 18 and 19 so we have time to plan a strategy. The event runs from 10am-6pm both days.
10th Annual Art Walk
This festival is the Las Vegas Valley’s long and largest, Art Walk features regional artists such as Painter Michael Nisperos and metal artisan Rick Vigallon. Mark Vranesh who is the producer of Art Walk is a long time Las Vegan. This event is being held at Village Center Circle. Saturday Oct. 25th and Sun. Oct 26th each day from 10am-5pm both days.
70 artists are expected to fill out the roster of jewelers, metal craftspeople, glass artists, sculptors, fabric crafters, mixed media artisans and painters.
In celebration of National Native American Heritage Month, native arts will be demonstrated by local craftspeople; live music will be featured at the Entertainment Plaza and by exhibiting artists.
Kids can enjoy seasonal crafts and projects at the Kids’ Art Park located in the S.W. corner of the Center.
All events, activities, demonstrations and on site parking are free and open to the public.
Trails Village Center is located in the heart of Summerlin near Summerlin Parkway and Town Center Drive. The Center provides a comfortable setting for enjoying the art, shopping at the more than 30 specialty retailers and dining at several casual eateries.
Mad Hatter Tea Party
Thursday Nov. 20th 4:40pm-6pm at the Gardens Community Center.
Participants will get to do face painting, storytelling, and of course tea with Alice, The Queen of Hearts, and the Mad Hatter. This event is $15.00 ( make checks to The Summerlin Council.) Registration begins Nov. 3rd at the community centers. (Trails, Willows, Gardens) There will be limited seating.
One word Santa and reindeer all coming to the Gardens community center on Dec. 3rd and Dec 4th from 6pm to 8:30pm. This annual event is very popular and has cookie decorating, holiday music and Yes Santa!
